5 Ways to Get More Followers on Instagram

Even if you’re an Instagram newbie, you don’t have to wait to make a big impact. So often, I hear from businesses that are starting out on Instagram and feel like they need to take a wait and see approach. But there’s a better way! Keep reading this blog post to discover five ways to get more followers on Instagram.

In this blog post:

    • #1 Be Consistent
    • #2: Make Sure You Have a Strong Instagram Bio
    • #3: Engage with Other Instagram Accounts and Comment with Intention
    • #4: Use Instagram Hashtags with Every Post
    • #5: Get More Engagement

#1: Be Consistent

First, it’s important to be consistent on Instagram. It’s super easy to get a rush of excitement for Instagram at the beginning. But, once the excitement wears off and you’re overwhelmed with your to-do list, it’s easy to stop posting for a while. I see it all the time.

Here’s what I mean when I say be consistent: You should regularly post and share Instagram Stories. Commit to a certain amount of Instagram posts and videos to share weekly on Instagram.

One strategy that can help you save time and post consistently is by batching your Instagram content and saving them as a draft.

#2: Make Sure You Have a Strong Instagram Bio

Next, let’s talk about your Instagram bio. You only have seconds to make a good impression when someone lands on your account.

The Instagram bio is a huge part of what entices people to follow you. Consider it the billboard for your Instagram profile. From your Instagram avatar to your business summary, your Instagram bio packs a lot of information.

#3: Engage with Other Instagram Accounts and Comment with Intention

Now, it’s not enough to post consistently; you also need to consistently engage with other Instagram accounts. Typically, 10 minutes or so a day is the perfect amount of time.

But, don't just reply to the comments on your account. Branch out and engage with other peoples’ content. This will help you network on the platform and get in front of a new audience.

Check out your ideal followers’ account and spark a conversation.

#4: Use Instagram Hashtags with Every Post

For my fourth Instagram growth tip, let’s focus on hashtags. Instagram beginners often treat hashtags as an afterthought. But, they are one of the best ways to get more eyeballs on your content.

If you’re struggling to come up with hashtags to use for your content, I suggest checking out other accounts in your industry niche.

#5: Get More Engagement

Finally, when you’re sharing Instagram posts you need to think about your ideal follower not yourself. Every time you share content on Instagram you need to ask yourself, “What’s in it for them?”

Even if the Instagram post is meant to entertain or inspire, it’s still smart to think about the value your content will offer to your followers.

It’s easy to get caught up in talking about you instead of building the bridge between your experience and what your follower wants to hear.
